Consisting Solely of Collaborations Between
Arremer & Guanaco
People work to access water that flows beneath the ground. It is work to
locate it, work to dig to it, work to line the hole, and it is work
that must be done well or the well will collapse. And, of course, once it has been secured, a well must be conscientiously maintained. In a sense, the culture (knowledge, skills, discipline, and social
coordination) required to construct and administer a working well are as vital to human life as water itself. One might just as well thirst for either.
